Why Is The Optometry Result Different Every Time?
When we need specialist treatment at the optician's
but is not familiar with it, maybe we will check again to another optician's.
Then we may find powers are different between two inspections. What we will do?
And which inspection should we believe?
I believe many friends encountered some
similar problems. So why did this happen?
1. The refractive state of the human eye is
not constant. Different light, pupil size, mental state, tension or even the
state of the whole body may affect the final parameters of refraction.
2. Different environment of the optometry
place, brightness of the light, quality of the inspection equipment, distance from
inspection equipment, skill and responsibility of the inspector also may affect
the final parameters of refraction.
To avoid this problem, we can follow steps
below:
1. Reasonable self-arrangement before
inspection
For optometry, eyes are most relaxed in the
morning, because eyes adjustment and our body have been relaxed after a night’s
rest. In general, the human mental state is the best in the morning.
If you feel your eyesight has declined
recently and want to change your glasses to improve your eyesight, please rest well
on night before and don’t drink wine.
2. Choice of location
Different optometry stores have different
standards for optometry.
If optometry is to be accurate, an
independent optometry room is required at least at least, in which the examinee
will not be disturbed by the surrounding environment. And the examinee needs to
be enough time to carry out a long-term trial wearing and make accurate
judgments. Stable light and inspection environment will make inspection results
more stable.
3. Selection of optometry equipment and
personnel
One the one hand, for accurate inspection,
the responsibility of personnel is higher than the personal professional skills.
On the other hand, on the basis of the same personnel, better optometry equipment
will make inspection more efficient and more accurate. The better the
inspection time can be grasped, the better the patient's own inspection
experience will be.
4. Try-on
As the subject of the inspection, you should
try it on. If you don't know which one is right for you? Who can really know?
In addition to looking at the degree and
astigmatism axis, optometrist also need to refer to your corrected visual
acuity and your trial experience. What’s more, trying on is not just to simply
take a look at the eye chart, you need to take the trial frame to outdoor.
Because the light in the optometry room is generally not very bright, you need
to experience the change from dark environment to bright environment and look
at real situation from a distance, instead of just looking at the eye chart.
After all, the eye chart is 100% black and white, and the real world is much
more complicated than the eye chart.
