Protective glasses are an important part of personal protective equipment, which can be divided into ordinary protective glasses and special protective glasses according to the use function.
Protective glasses are special glasses designed to prevent radiation, chemical, mechanical and light damage of different wavelengths.
There are many kinds of protective glasses, and glasses with different needs in different occasions are also different. The common ones are dust-proof glasses, shock proof glasses, chemical proof glasses, and radiation proof glasses.
Ordinary optical glass mirrors are made of ordinary optical glass to prevent mechanical damage of turners, grinders, millers, drillers, boring workers, riveters, sand cleaners, and molding workers, as well as acid and alkali burns caused by acid and alkali operations, tests, and samples, and prevent foreign matters from entering the eyes of drivers, surgeons, and others.
Sunvisors are also called sunglasses. The transmittance of visible light is about 20%, and the absorption of ultraviolet and infrared rays is good. There are light green, light grey, light tea and other colors, which are used to make protective glasses for sunshade and snow work. Light grey lens has the least effect on color identification; Light tea glasses make the blue sky look darker and reduce the transmission of green light; Light green lenses reduce red light transmission.
Eye protection glasses for gas welding The colorants used in this lens are mainly iron oxide, cobalt oxide, etc., which are yellow green. They can fully absorb light waves with wavelength below 500urn. The transmissivity of visible light is below 1%, and only a small amount of infrared light can pass through. This kind of glasses is specially used for gas welding.
Eyeglasses for electric welding Ultraviolet light generated by electric welding will cause damage to cornea and conjunctiva tissue (28 nm light is the most serious) after a short period of exposure to the eyeball. The intense infrared ray produced is very easy to cause eye lens opacity. Welding goggles can well block the above infrared and ultraviolet rays. This kind of lens is based on optical glass and uses colorants such as iron oxide, cobalt oxide and chromium oxide. In addition, a certain amount of cerium oxide is added to increase the absorption of ultraviolet light. The appearance is green or yellowish green. It can completely block the ultraviolet ray, the infrared transmittance is less than 5%, and the visible light transmittance is about 0.1%.
