The Evolution of Sunglasses Fashion Design
At least three countries claim to be the first to invent glasses. It was mentioned in the book of Spanish missionaries 500 years ago that they brought back glasses from China, but unfortunately there is no physical proof. Another thing is that the Eskimos used a kind of wooden goggles 500 years ago, which is actually a long board with two slits drawn on it, which obviously cannot be regarded as sunglasses. It is credible that modern sunglasses are a European invention.
At the beginning of the 20th century, goggles for driving became a symbol of wealth and fashion. Goggles are mostly made of glass, but they are extremely expensive. In the 1930s, Germans and Americans successively invented polystyrene plastic, which is as transparent as glass and stronger. However, due to the low production of polystyrene at that time, it was expensive, and it was absolutely a symbol of top luxury to be able to wear such goggles.
The image of Douglas MacArthur, a five-star general of the U.S. Air Force, with a corncob pipe in his mouth and a pair of AO black sunglasses in his eyes has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
At the same time, more and more Hollywood stars are beginning to be keen to wear such sunglasses. Thus sunglasses began to be widely popular among the masses. The aviator-style sunglasses have thus become a forever classic.
